Platform, Security and Reliability
How KamoUniverse is built, and what that means for your data. Nothing in this section is something you configure — it's here so you can answer questions about the platform when your IT team, your compliance officer or your own customers ask them.
If you're looking for security settings you can change — who may sign in, from where, and what's logged — those are under Workspace and Administration → Security and Access.
What you'll find here
- How KamoUniverse Is Built — the short version of the architecture, in plain language.
- Where Your Data Is Stored — what lives where, and what that means for backups and residency.
- How Your Data Is Encrypted — in transit, at rest, and the cases where only you hold the key.
- Uptime, Backups and Disaster Recovery — what happens when something fails.
- Privacy and Compliance — GDPR, health information, and what we will and won't do with your data.
- Who Can See Your Data — the honest answer, including the small number of cases where a person at Kamo can.
The one-paragraph version
KamoUniverse runs as a large number of small, independent services on a clustered platform, spread across multiple machines so that losing one doesn't take the product down. Data is stored in a distributed database that keeps several copies of every record. Traffic is encrypted end to end. Your organization's data is separated from every other organization's at the database level, not by a filter somebody could forget to apply.
