How to Ask a Team Member for Documents
Sometimes you need a document from someone on your team: a photo ID, a professional license, proof of insurance, a voided check, a certificate. Kamo lets you ask for it, collect it safely, and review it before it counts.
There are two ways to ask.
Ask everyone a package goes to
Add Requested Documents to a legal package. Everyone who receives the package is asked to upload them.
- Go to Human Resources → Legal & Compliance and open a package (or create one).
- Go to the Requested Documents step.
- Click Add From Library to pick a common request, or Add a Request to write your own.
- For each request, fill in:
- What to Upload: a short name, like "Driver's License".
- Instructions: what you need, in plain words. For example, "Front and back, all four corners showing."
- File Types: PDF, photos, or Office files.
- How Many Files: the fewest and the most a person may send.
- Ask for the Expiration Date: turn this on for things that expire, like a license.
- Review: use the package's setting, or say this item always (or never) needs a review.
- Drag the cards to put them in the order people should see them.
- Save and publish the package as usual.
The preview on the right shows exactly what the team member will see.
Ask one person, right now
Use a Quick Request when you need something from one person and don't want to build a package.
- Open the team member's page and go to their Legal & Compliance tab.
- Click Request Documents.
- Give the request a name, write a short message, pick what you need, and choose a due date if you want one.
- Decide whether someone should review it, and who.
- Click Send Request. The team member is told straight away.
Choosing who reviews
In the package's Review step (or in a Quick Request), turn on Requires Review, then choose any mix of:
- Anyone With the Review Right: everyone who holds Review Legal Submissions.
- Specific People: name one or more reviewers.
- Their Manager: the person the team member reports to.
You can also give reviewers a number of business days to respond. Late reviews are flagged in the queue.
When review is off, a package is complete as soon as the team member finishes it.
