How to Configure Meeting Security and Access

Note: there's no "who can create a meeting" control here — that's a Security Role right (Start Meeting), not a Meets setting. This tab is about what happens once someone's in the meeting flow, not who's allowed to start one.

Set guest policies, waiting room behavior, passcode rules, and end-to-end encryption for your organization's meetings.

Before you start

The Manage Meet Settings right.

Steps

  1. Go to Settings → Kamo Meets → Security & Access.
  2. Guest Policies — Require Display Name, Allow Anonymous Guests, Require a signed-in account, and a Guest Link Expiry in hours (0 = never expires).
  3. Waiting Room — Waiting Room Mode (Always / Guests Only / Never), who skips the lobby (organizer only, up through everyone), who can present, and whether attendees can turn on their camera or unmute themselves.
  4. Passcodes — Passcode length (4–16 characters, default 6), and whether to include the passcode directly in the join link.
  5. Encryption — toggle End-to-End Encryption. See End-to-End Encryption in Kamo Meets before turning this on — it disables recording.
  6. Click Save changes.
