How to Place a Call with the Softphone
Dial a number using KamoUniverse's built-in softphone.
Before you start
- Your organization has a phone system connected (RingCentral, a SIP/PBX system, or Microsoft Teams) and you hold the Access VOIP right.
- Your own member account needs to be connected to that phone system. If it isn't, the dial pad shows a prompt to connect your account instead of letting you dial — see Why Your Phone May Not Be Connected
Steps
Dial a number directly:
- In the top navigation bar, click the phone icon (tooltip: "Call or Text").
- Choose Call. The softphone panel opens on the Dial tab.
- Type a number using the on-screen dial pad, or click into the number field and type/paste it.
- Click the green call button (or press Enter) to place the call.
Click-to-call from a record:
- On a Lead's detail page, click its Work or Personal phone number — the softphone opens and dials it automatically.
- On a teammate's contact card (their extension shown), click the call icon to auto-dial their extension the same way.
What you'll see
The softphone display switches to "Connected" (or shows ringing/connecting while it sets up), with a live call timer. See How do I use the in-call controls? for what to do next, and How to Answer or Decline an Incoming Call for the other direction.
