How to Record Your Break Attestation
Self-report whether you took your meal break and rest breaks on a given day.
Before you start
- You're enrolled in timecard tracking. This panel appears at the bottom of your Timecard tab (Settings → My Account → Timecard).
Steps
- Open My Account → Timecard. Scroll to the Your breaks on {date} panel.
- For your meal break, choose one:
- I took my meal break as recorded
- I chose to waive it (only valid where the law allows waiving a meal on a short enough shift — on a longer day the obligation stands regardless, and a premium may be owed even if you select this)
- Enter how many rest breaks you actually took. Leave it blank if you're not answering yet — leaving it blank is treated as "not answered," not as zero; entering 0 is a claim that no rests were taken.
- Indicate whether any rest break was interrupted.
- Click submit.
What you'll see
Your answer is recorded as the day's break attestation. If your answer indicates a missed or shortened break, the system tells you how many premium hours are owed for the day. Rest breaks are paid time and are deliberately never clocked, so this self-report is the only record of them that exists — nothing here is pre-filled with a "compliant" answer, and an unanswered day is never treated as a violation.
You can come back and update your attestation for the same day if your first answer was wrong.
