How the Commission Processor Works

Money only enters a member's commission balance one way: an administrator issues it through the Commission Processor. There is deliberately no automatic path from a CRM lead's approved Opportunity reservation into a payout — see Opportunities Explained An approved Opportunity records what was agreed, but has no sale price and no "sale settled" status to resolve a real payout from, so it can't generate a ledger entry on its own.

The three objects

  • Commission Line — one entry: a member, a description, an amount, and a maturity date. This is manual, freeform data entry — an admin composes it, it isn't pulled from anywhere automatically. (The underlying API does have a field to link a line back to a specific Opportunity reservation for display purposes, but the compose screen doesn't use it today — there's no way, in the interface, to attach a line to the deal that earned it.)
  • Commission Batch — a group of lines sent together. Your whole organization shares one draft batch at a time — if two admins are both composing, they're editing the same draft, not separate ones. Sending a batch issues every line in it to its member's balance immediately.
  • Withdrawal — a member's request to move their balance out to their bank, subject to the hold period you set in Organization Stripe. A withdrawal can only be cancelled while it's still on hold — once the hold lifts, the transfer is final and can't be recalled.

Undoing a mistake

A sent line can be voided (draws the amount back out of the member's balance) — but a batch itself can't be un-sent. Both voiding a line and cancelling a withdrawal require typing a reason, which the affected member sees on their own ledger.
