How to Watch Your Cameras
You need the View Cameras permission, and access to at least one camera (see Who Can Watch a Camera).
Open a camera
Click Cameras at the top of the screen. The menu lists your Saved Layouts, then camera groups, then cameras on their own; a dot shows whether each camera is online. Choose any of them and it opens in a camera window, which you can move, resize, dock or make full screen like any other window. Open Viewer opens an empty window to fill yourself.
Watch several at once
- Tile layout chooses the grid: Automatic (just big enough for the cameras in the window), Single camera, 2 × 2, 3 × 3, 4 × 4, 1 large + 5 small or 1 large + 7 small.
- Add camera puts another camera in the next free tile. Drag tiles to rearrange them.
- Click a tile to select it. Double-click it, or use its expand button, to make it fill the window at full quality; press Esc to go back to the grid.
Tiles play each camera's smaller stream so a location's internet connection isn't overwhelmed; the camera that fills the window plays at full quality.
Sound
Only the selected camera is ever heard, and only if its sound is switched on. Choose how:
- Automatic (the default) — hear the selected camera while this window is in front.
- Sound on — always hear the selected camera.
- Muted — no sound from any camera.
Save a layout
When the cameras are arranged the way you like, click Save layout and give it a name. It appears under Saved Layouts in the Cameras menu. Opening a saved layout and changing it lets you save the changes to it, or Save as new.
Layouts are your own; other people don't see them.
Full screen
Make a camera window full screen and a list of your layouts, groups and cameras appears beside it, so you can switch between them without leaving the full-screen view. New viewer starts another.
Good to know
A camera window you minimize, or hide behind another full-screen window, stops its video until you bring it back, so it doesn't use the location's connection while nobody is looking.
