What You Can Do with Cameras
Cameras puts the security cameras at all your locations in one place, inside the same workspace you already use.
For everyone who watches
- Open any camera you are allowed to see from the Cameras menu at the top of the screen.
- Watch up to sixteen cameras together in one window, in the grid that suits you, and make any one of them fill the window with a double-click.
- Hear the camera you have selected, and only that one.
- Save the cameras you watch together as a layout, and open it again in one click.
For administrators
- Connect a location by installing the connector on any always-on computer there — Windows, macOS or Linux — and typing in the code it shows. Nothing on your firewall changes.
- Find Cameras on that network automatically (ONVIF, HomeKit, Dahua and XMeye recorders, USB cameras and more), or add one by its stream address.
- Add a recorder (an NVR or DVR) once and get one camera for each of its channels.
- Name, sort and group your cameras, and switch any camera or group off.
- Choose who may watch each camera or group: particular people, whole departments, job titles or teams.
Good to know
- Video goes directly from the location to the viewer. When a direct path isn't possible — some company and mobile networks block it — it passes through an encrypted relay that cannot see the picture. It is never recorded.
- Grid tiles use a camera's smaller stream to spare the location's internet upload; a camera you make fill the window switches to full quality.
- Cameras is switched on per organization under Settings → Account → Apps (KamoCameras). Nobody can see or manage cameras until an administrator gives them the permissions described in Who Can Watch a Camera.
